The District Conference will kick off on Friday at Noon with opening ceremonies featuring Military Magnet High School Color Guard, inspirational speeches from DJ Hampton, CEO of the Trident United Way, Darrin Goss, CEO of Coastal Community Foundation (both organizations which have made a significant impact in Charleston and were founded by the Rotary Club of Charleston 80 and 50 years ago, respectively).
Jill Pietrusinski will lead a session on Making Rotary Personal: Uniting for Good from the Inside Out: How personal transformation and The Rotary Foundation propel our shared future. A Friday night reception and dinner will be capped off with a fun band to get us all on the dance floor.
The following morning will feature District Award recipients, and update on our Foundation Global Grants and the impact of your philanthropy, as well as inspiring speakers discussing the impact of The Cart Fund and Polio Plus.
The afternoon will be a chance to explore North Charleston and Charleston, while Major Donors enjoy a special Major Donor Luncheon (invitation only). A wine and whiskey tasting will be held at 4 pm, followed by an Awards Dinner highlighted by an introduction of our Rotary Youth Exchange students, a Parade of our Past District Governors, and an inspirational keynote speech by Rotary Foundation Director-Elect Marshall Butler.
